Bearing life is defined as total revolution or working hours at specified rotation speed before fatigue peeling appears on any rolling part or any race. Most textbooks discuss the theoretical designed life of bearing concerning fatigue life. However actual life is quite different from the theoretical fatigue life in many applications. According to statistics, over 80% bearings failed far before fatigue.
